Chris and Mathilde have a lovely pied à terre in Orléans, which we helped them move furniture into in August. It's really close to the the station and they have a basement storage area. We are very appreciative of being able to leave unwanted winter clothes, for example, in this area. It was great to stay there for a few days, catch up with their busy lives, shelter from the elements and sort out some winter gear before moving on to Lyon.
There we again needed to sort - what to leave there with our bikes, what to pack ready to take home to NZ, and what to take for the next few weeks around France. Our friends, Laurent and Thérèse, kindly ferry our bikes and accompanying gear up to a wintering-over spot where they are in nobody's way. With their help we are able to make long trips like this and not have to bring everything with us every time.
